Welcome to the HappiDojo website. We are a friendly club which provides judo training to people from 5+ years of age. This introductory training focuses on ‘FUN’damentals with games providing a suitable medium for helping to develop core skills, including speed, co-ordination, fitness and agility along with judo technique.
Older children and adults can benefit from world class technical instruction from Commonwealth Gold Medallist Dave Southby.
The Club has been running since 2008, and is affiliated to the British Judo Association(BJA) (Club number 9046) which itself is affiliated to the International Judo Federation. It has been Club Mark Quality Accredited, and all it coaches are UK Coaching Course qualified. It’s coaches have been BJA accredited and have undergone CRB or DBS checks. All BJA coaches have in date First Aid qualifications.
Happidojo can provide an ideal environment for people interested in starting up or advancing their competitive Judo skills. It is primarily aimed toward people of school age (up to 16), as training sessions are only run during term times. Each term we aim to run a ‘red belt rumble’ competition to provide the opportunity to try out the skills learnt in more challenging circumstances if the players wish to do so.
The latest club mat/membership form and associated fees can be found in the download section of the Links page. We’re a friendly club, with a decent sized mat area, and happy to welcome visitors from other locations. Hopefully we’ll see you ‘on the mat’. 🙂
